I am happy to announce that our first CSA delivery will be Tuesday June 16th! We are super excited to be easing back into full swing around the farm and have a hand full of crops that are starting to come on. We have decided to let the momentum build to the point that we will have very full boxes for you from the very first, and so, even though the spring has been quite early and warm, we are keeping with our usual 3rd Tuesday in June beginning.
The strawberries have started to come on, the garlic is sending up flower stalks, and carrots, peas and greens are putting on size. Our summer squash crop in the high tunnel is also starting to produce and I’m sure you will see most of these crops in your first deliveries of the year! We have been very busy putting in plantings, weeding, building trellises, and preparing infrastructure for the harvests to come. So much so, that it is hard to believe that it really is only the end of May! This coming week we will be installing the pepper, eggplant and melon crops which should be a considerable undertaking as each row needs an individual cloche to keep the plants warm during our cool PNW nights.
With the handful of crops we have ready, we have decided to start at the Olympia Farmers Market this Sunday, and the Chehalis Farmers Market this Tuesday. If you are able to stop by, our CSA members will receive 10% off at the market stand! Please do stop by and be sure to mention that you are a CSA member to receive your discount.
Thank you for your support,
